Vinyl Spins - 2001 Space Odyssey

Vinyl Spins: Got this 50 year old album out today. In the spring of 1968 when the film was released I cut my high school classes (matinees were cheaper) and went downtown to the big theatre showing the movie on the special Cinerama screen. I loved it enough to run out and get the soundtrack album right away.

This was also the first classical album I purchased and the second soundtrack album after Goldfinger.

Catanzaro Sisters

The Catanzaro sisters. West Side Buffalo, 1948. I first met these wonderful ladies while sitting around that same kitchen table in the late 1970’s. Grace, Antoinette, Josephine, Jeanette, Rose and Catherine my mother-in-law. They had one brother, Uncle Gasper, a Buffalo Fire Dept. Captain who also lived in that house all his life with two of his sisters. 

Becky’s Aunt Jo and Aunt Toni made jewelry and had their House of Crafts shop on Elmwood and Auburn on the West Side Elmwood Strip for many years. The last of the sisters, Aunt Rose, sadly passed away last summer. They embraced me into their family. We miss them all.
